Hebrew Prayer
Psalm Prayer
Chapter 92:1-8 -
A Psalm in Praise of the Miracles of the Lord, imprinted on an authentic Jerusalem Stone plaque. The writing is in the Hebrew language. Its English translation is:
"A psalm. A song. For the Sabbath day.
It is good to praise the LORD
and make music to your name, O Most High,
to proclaim your love in the morning
and your faithfulness at night,
to the music of the ten-stringed lyre
and the melody of the harp.
For you make me glad by your deeds, O LORD;
I sing for joy at the works of your hands.
How great are your works, O LORD,
how profound your thoughts!
The senseless man does not know,
fools do not understand,
that though the wicked spring up like grass
and all evildoers flourish,
they will be forever destroyed.
But you, O LORD, are exalted forever."

The perfect prayer book – that is what of psalms has been called. Written over a period of about eight hundred years (from about 1000 to 167 B.C), these one hundred fifty poems and hymns compose the most important existing collection of Hebrew national and religious poetry.
The Psalms are timeless in their summation of human emotion. In them we find Psalms of praise, of rejoicing, Psalms which are pleas for help, Prayers for protection, for deliverance, and for mercy. It has been said that they are "the whole of the hearts of man". The Psalms are believed to be the revealed word of God.
They are the songs and prayers which were used by the ancient Jews, the prayers which were prayed by Jesus and Mary, the Apostles, and which are still prayed daily by millions, all over the world.
